We were still warming up, so not like pushing to the limit right at the beginning. He's been there many times, and his car is better equipped than mine for hilly roads (4wd, coilovers, 235 so3 tires all around, upgraded brakes). But shit like this happens, especially on open roads, it's even more unexpectable vs. at the track. So I'd call that his unlucky day. Afterall it takes certain risk to drive fast, whether on or off the track.
